Krishna Consciousness

Admission to Gokulananda Gurukulam is through a selection process that includes personal interviews and reference checks, provided the following criteria are met:

  • Prospective students and parents should have a favourable attitude towards our Vedic culture and traditions and should be appreciative of the devotional activities and teachings of ISKCON.
  • Prospective students and parents should be part of some recognized centre of ISKCON (either a full-fledged temple or some outpost) and practicing the path of Bhakti under the guidance of some authorized devotees.
  • Prospective students and parents should be deeply interested in the type of education that is provided in our Gurukulam, and be willing to abide by the training and culture imparted therein.
  • The students should have completed class-3 in any other gurukulam or regular school and should be between 8-10 years in age.
  • There is no mandatory fee charged by our Gurukulam. Expenses are borne by way of donations. Parents may voluntarily offer any donation that they can afford. No student will be denied admission solely on the ground of parents not being able to offer a donation.

Our academic year starts from Akshaya Tritiya (April-May) and ends on Gaura Purnima (March).
The admission process for the new batch of students starts from January and selected students join the Gurukulam on the day of Akshaya Tritiya

ACCREDITATION

Our students will have their academic courses (NCERT-based) certified through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling). More details available at https://www.nios.ac.in

Currently, we provide education for 7 years from class 4 to class 10. They will appear for the NIOS board examination in class-10 for their selected academic courses.

In future, we also plan to develop higher education courses, post Gurukulam education. We are also seriously considering affiliating with a Central/State Sanskrit University.
